Chill is a 2012 Webby Awards Honoree!
Well how about that. Today the nominations for the 16th Annual Webby Awards were announced and we’re proud to say that Chill has been selected as an Official Honoree.
We’re just getting started reinventing the way people discover and watch video and we couldn’t do this without the interesting and passionate people who enjoy Chill every day.
Sure, company awards and honors don’t ultimately matter in the lives of our users. But sometimes a little recognition goes a long way in singling out the work of our very talented team.
With nearly 10,000 entries received from all 50 US states and over 60 countries, we’re thrilled to be in very good company in the social media category. Congrats to all of our fellow honorees!
Add Chill to your Facebook Timeline today
The Chill community posts thousands of hilarious, awe-inspiring or just plain incredible videos every day and cultivates these into high-quality collections. Now, it’s easy to show off these videos and collections to all of your Facebook friends.
To add Chill to your Facebook Timeline, simply turn the toggle button at the top of your screen to “On:”
After clicking the button, you’ll be asked to add Chill to your Timeline with this window. Enable Chill to be added to your Timeline.
After confirming, we’ll automatically group the videos you’ve posted, the collections you’ve created, the most recent collections you’ve chosen to follow and the videos that you’ve watched.
With Chill’s Timeline app, you can seamlessly share with your friends the videos and collections you’ve been creating; enabling you and your friends to discover incredible new videos.
If you ever want to adjust your Timeline settings, simply click “Settings” on the dropdown menu that appears when you hover over your name on Chill.
One last thing before SXSW
Before the SXSW madness begins, we only thought it appropriate to launch another improvement to Chill: category browsing.
With one click, you can now watch whatever fits your mood—tech news, funny videos, politics, design inspiration and more. It was clear you wanted a better way to sort through the thousands of videos posted to Chill every day, so we built it.

Product improvements
Today, we’re launching an entirely new way to enjoy videos on Chill.
The best videos start conversations. That’s why our new watching experience encourages dialogue with people in the community who’ve commented, watched or reposted on any video in the community.
The end result of this is that comments, viewers and reposters are displayed next to every video. So it’s easy to join the conversation, start one up, or follow people who you find interesting.
But there’s more. Chill now recommends videos related to what you’re currently watching — which means that you’re only one click away from a video you’ll love. Come check it out!
Welcome to collections
We’re excited to announce the biggest addition to Chill yet: collections.
Collections are the best way to express your style, interests and obsessions through video.
Maybe you love postmodern architecture, or live indie music performances, or Lana Del Rey. Whatever you’re into, that’s what collections are about: beautiful video defined by your taste. And, we’ve made it easy for you to get your taste recognized by others. Your collections can be followed by anyone on Chill.

Today, we’re taking a giant step forward with the new Chill.
Over the past few months, we’ve had tremendous success building a new kind of experience around video. Our previous efforts allowed you and your friends to watch video together, synchronizing the video for everyone in a video room. But after talking with our most passionate customers, we knew there was something more important to tackle. Through these discussions emerged a concept that could make video fully social in a simpler, less-taxing way.
Millions of videos are shared every day, but the actual act of finding, watching and categorizing video is surprisingly difficult and fragmented.
There’s a better way. And we believe that the answer lies in making video truly social.
Enter today’s product: with this release, we’ve created an entirely new way for people to watch movies, TV shows and Web video. At the core, watching video on the Internet is a social activity; if you laugh, smile or love something you see, you inherently want to share it with someone.
The new Chill makes it dead simple to watch and share video. We’ve built a fully-integrated way for you to consume entertaining, interesting and thoughtful content on your terms.
Everything has been re-imagined in the new Chill. Your home is now a grid of videos shared by the people you care about. And the most important activity — watching video — is built to be a fully-integrated and immersive viewing experience that doesn’t force you to leave the page.
But what about sharing? We’ve made it easy to repost videos you love to your followers and share them seamlessly with your Facebook and Twitter networks.
Lastly, we’ve created a popular section that allows you to easily discover what’s cool at that moment in time in the community.
